How does someone find work as a voice actor in Madison WI?
I've recently started thinking about becoming a voice actor. I have a very nice voice and I can do lots of different voices and impressions. So, would I need to take classes or try to make a CD of my talents or what? Real and knowledgable opinions only please.

If you don't work directly for an advertising agency or broadcast station, you will either need to find an agent, or have LOTS of time, energy, and money to run around and try to promote yourself. Taking classes certainly wouldn't hurt, because they teach you how to breathe and speak smoothly and with the correct pitch and sound levels. Generally, your "audition CD" would have 3-5 minutes of you doing various types of speaking, from news, to Public Service Announcements, to advertisements, to your "voices and impressions." Make SURE your impressions are good, though. Otherwise the CD will end up in the trash more often than not. Best of success.
