Answer 1 :
well you can walk dogs
Answer 2 :
try foneing up charitys and asking for any bit of work and they should give u somin
Answer 3 :
The problem, as you know, is that you're too young and are a liability issue. Both as far as accidents and child labor laws go. The very best thing you could do, as far as volunteering goes, is to collect money for your favorite charity. Good luck!
Answer 4 :
It's great you want to volunteer - I think that's awesome. Try calling them on the phone instead or stopping by. I guarantee that personal contact will work better than e-mail, regardless of your age.
Answer 5 :
I'm right there with ya I'm 15 years old and I cant work at out animal shelter the Hutchinson Animal Shelter because I'm not 16 because it is ran by the city. Try to find some individually owned organizations instead of a city or network company. We have the HKC or hutchinson kennel club that is all voulenteer work. Just keep looking the internet might help like google animal rescues then your area. You could simply take things like shoe boxes, cat litter, toys, ect. to your animal shelter too.
Answer 6 :
are you in 8th grade? i'd recommend young heroes. its a program that doesnt only do one thing, its a multi thing, its like every other saturday's and you get to meet new people and you do lots of fun stuff. if u decided u want to do some in HS also, i REALLY recomment city heroes. its like the same thing but its more hands on. i live in seattle, WA and im doing it again for the second year. if u have that program in your town i recommend that alot. also when ur 15 u can start doing team read. thats a program to help 2nd-3rd grade students improve their reading skillls to at or above reading level. also when you go to high school you can volenteer at your local library. i know this is all high school stuuf, and im sorry, but even though u are a very cool person to want to help out in the community, there arnt many opportunities out there. if you find you cannot find anything, its ok. once you go into high school in a year [unless u skipped a grade or was held back] there are many things you can go silly with that has to do with volenteering. but its still not easy to get a job until your 18. 16 is easier but still dificult, which is why team read is a great program, you can get paid to do it! i hoped i helped. good luck!
Answer 7 :
your great you show me there is hope for the youth after all why not try your church or youth group im sure they could help i have no doubt with your attitude your going to go far in life and i hope your abitions will all be realised.........seamanab

How do I get a employer to give me there tax ID for a 1099 they refuse any help appreciated?
I painted 30 apartments for a guy who works for madison rental properties in ann arbor this guy only paid me for 30% of what he owes me I tod this person I would take him to small claims court. So he threatens me that he wants my ssn # to file a 1099 I dont think he even has one how can I demand him or this rental co give me there tax ID# I think its sad to have to deal with people like this.any help would mean alot thanks Tommy

Answer 1 :
You might try calling the local Labor Board and see if they can steer you in the right direction.
Answer 2 :
First thought is to call the IRS and report him. You might also call the Better Business Burea and report his sorry butt. The law does not require him to have your SSN, as a matter of fact, it's illegal for him to ask.
Answer 3 :
First of all, you don't need their tax ID number for anything. You can take them to court under their business name, and name the agent, proprietor, whomever. If this person is only a manager, contact the owner, and notify them in writing of the problem so that you have a paper trail. Make sure the person who shorted you receives a copy. Contact the Better Business Bureau; see if you can file a complaint. I used to live in A-squared and they're pretty straight laced about people being taken advantage of because there are so many students there. I don't think you have the correct company name - find the property management company that is really involved. It should be in your written contract. It's best if you have one, if not, it'll be an uphill battle. Having the person file a 1099 on your behalf should not threaten you, unless you were making money under the table. It may help your case, because you have a document whose paid amount you can dispute. You'll need to file the taxes on the income, regardless - so that's no threat whatsoever. Call him on it.
Answer 4 :
contact the state labor board in your area and they will assist you in this matter.
Answer 5 :
If you did work for this person as a contractor, he is required to report his payments to you to the IRS. He is required to give the IRS your social security number or employer ID. Consequently, if he requests your social security number, and you don't have an employer ID number, you are required to provide your SS # or you will face a penalty. You don't have any need for his Tax ID number--just take him to court.
Answer 6 :
He can't file a 1099 without a tax id#. He has to put both his TIN and yours on the form. As far as suing him is conserned, if a TIN/SSN was required, there would be far fewer lawsuits.

About Any Road Construction to avoid from Madison to Chicago

Any Road Construction to avoid from Madison to Chicago?
Myself and a co-worker are heading to Chicago from Madison, WI to attend a work related seminar and plan on leaving Wed, May 26th in mid-afternoon. Is there any road construction on I 90 and tollways that we should know about? Any alternate routes would be appreciated.
Chicago - 1 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
Amazingly there is no construction on that route right now. Just stick with I-90 (aka Kennedy) going into and out of Chicago. I-290 (aka Eisenhower) is a mess to be avoided. You will hit rush hour going into the city no matter what route so just be patient or leave Madison closer to Noon. Tune your radio to 780 AM for traffic on the 8's. You can pick up this station at or before the IL border.

About How many people hate Scott Walker

How many people hate Scott Walker?
If he has a mother, does she approve of his work in Madison? With hundreds of thousands of people having visited the capitol in Madison in the past two weeks to oppose him and maybe a couple thousand supporting him, I wonder how many people actually hate hate him. I wonder how it feels.
Law & Ethics - 9 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
it must irritate you that he was voted in by a majority last election
Answer 2 :
Scott Walker is probably the only chance for Wisconsin's salvation. He is definitely the best thing to happen since Cheddar.
Answer 3 :
Nah, he's not that bad. He just needs more tact.
Answer 4 :
only liberals. and they make up just a small minority.
Answer 5 :
the amount of people who continue to feel a tingle up their leg for obama..
Answer 6 :
How many of you libs hate it when the person elected by a MAJORITY of the people does not agree with your liberal agenda? Answer, all of you. He won the election because the people of Wisconsin are sick and tired of GOVERNMENT employees getting to do whatever the hell they please, regardless of whether they are doing their jobs properly or not. Any of these government workers can go work in the private sector if they are not happy. I guess in your liberal mind, the majority of the citizens of Wisconsin who voted for Walker only number a "couple thousand".
Answer 7 :
There are almost as many people against Walker as for him...I don't have actual numbers. Obviously he was elected, but guess what, I know people that voted for him and now wish they did not. Protestors are coming from out of state...that speaks volumes. I'll be the first, and probably the only one to say it here: Walker is a tyrant. His objective is to break all unions using the ruse of " to balance the budget" . Really? the public unions agreed to the concessions which will "balance the budget" but that's not enough for him. He is slashing local budgets And giving a comparable amount to businesses in tax breaks. Don't get me wrong, I do understand the need to bring jobs back to Wisconsin...but stop villainizing the public sector. The public sector did not create the budget deficit. Get real, that was a combination of bad spending by both parties. When it comes to school Districts, yes we get state aid...based on what the state decides they want to give from year to year and the rest is subsidized with local property taxes..which the State can and does cap. Historically, school district employees incurr lay-offs, wage freezes, and reduction in benefits. The recent publicity on this issue neglects to infer to any of this..it leads the public to believe that all public employees don't pay for any of their benefits..and many of us do already. Many of us do not have "high" paying jobs, we "bargained" for better benefits over wages. I could go on and on but no-one would read it anyway; bottom line: my raise this past year was around $200; that was more than eaten up with increased contribution to health care (before Walker). My net pay is less than what it was before my raise. Now I have less money to spend on goods and services...is everybody happy now? So you think one person's spending won't have an affect on the economy...guess what, it's not just me Everyone has a problem supporting public union wages and benefits with "their tax dollars". Guess what, we all pay taxes too! I have to pay for the inflated prices for the good and services that you provide because of the inflated wages of CEO's and who knows... maybe even you. Walker supporters...get over yourselves.
Answer 8 :
Hard to tell how many people hate him. I know the democrats don't. Scott Walker has done more for the democrats than anybody in recent history and even those who are of a conservative mind set know it. Public opinion is turning against Governor Walker and the republicans can't back track fast enough. Just yesterday's Forbes magazine had an article entitled "Governor Walker Has Lost The War". The article was written by Rick Ungar. Forbes magazine is hardly a bastion of liberal thought and Rick Ungar is no left leaning loon. The last paragraph says this: "The Wisconsin governor's desire to be at the forefront of his perceived GOP revolution may not only have doomed the anti-union effort, but it may forever label him as the man who gave the democrats the gift that keeps on giving - the return of the union rank and file into the arms of the Democratic Party. In other words, the blow-back is much more than Scott Walker and his cronies anticipated and the era of the "Reagan Democrats" may soon be over. Governor Walker may win this battle, but he is poised to lose the war. Welcome Home Democrats!
Answer 9 :
Wisconsin is a democratic state historically. People here were deceived by the political attack ads and propaganda that the republicans can afford so very much of. The billionaires who own Scott Walker and pull his strings could buy any amount of votes, but they only buy enough to win by a safe margin. Of course, only about 60% of the population of Wisconsin is foolish enough to sway their vote due to what they see on TV, and to do so without asking themselves what is the end agenda of those who pay for such ads. Their agenda is as simple as greed; they want to get richer and make the other 98% of us poorer, so we will work for less in their factories and they can save on shipping from China. They have a plan for Wisconsin alright, servitude. Scott Walker is a manipulated buffoon, just like everyone who voted for him. Wisconsin hasn't seen such a fascist piece of shit since Joseph McCarthy. Having had that dark precedent, at least we know how history will record Walker. Wisconsin's second evil republican bastard. "meet the new boss, same as the old boss" Yes WI voters got seriously fooled again. Maybe they'll be wiser next time... depends on how many republican attack ads are purchased. Democracy is a joke when the richest voice is always the loudest.

About Am I making enough to live in Madison, Wisconsin by myself

Am I making enough to live in Madison, Wisconsin by myself?
I'm currently living at home with my parents. I've been working in Madison for over a year now, and the whole time I have been commuting. While I don't pay any rent at home, I'm driving 60+ miles a day one way to and from work. I'm in an isolated area where nothing is really around, and I want to get out and move to Madison to cut down on the commute, make some friends, and just get out. I'm currently making $13.50 an hour at my job. I plan to get a small yearly raise in April, and I probably wouldn't move before then. Here's what I'm going to have to pay & want to have. Current Payments - Student Loan - $260/month - Cell Phone - $65/month (Probably would not get a land line.) - Auto Insurance - $45/month (Can pay it every 6 months for about $230 but not sure if that is better or not.) - Health Insurance - $75/month (Through work, automatically taken out of paycheck.) Things I would want for an apartment - Offstreet Parking - Laundry On-Site - Dishwasher - Air Conditioning - Internet Connection - Cable or Satellite (Which is better, cable or satellite?) I think that's about it. I'm not sure what else to include.
Other - United States - 2 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
You need to consider your utility bills. Most apartments just include water, but electricy can get expensive in the extreme seasons. An average bill for a small apartment is around $100 Also consider money for food. That's easily another $200 to $300. Laundry is also about $3 a load to wash and dry. What about car maintenance and gasoline? Even with a shorter commute you will still need to budget for gasoline...unless your parents are paying your gasoline, food and utility bills?!?!?1 As for TV, I prefer cable as reception is not weather-dependent. Freedom isn't cheap.
Answer 2 :
yes, definately, Madison is not too expensive, look on craigslist for apartments, I make 11.25/hour 40hours/week and I have a part time job and my rent is 1095/month plus all other bills and I live on the west side of Madison, doing just fine. but ya you need to include the cost of internet, satellite, satellite is way better, phone, groceries, entertainment, miscellaneous house products, start up costs like furniture and dishes to fill your apartment...

LA.........but I would'nt want to live there.........
Answer 2 :
The arid zone is a great place to find a home near golf as well as skiing. Of course Tampa Bay and that area are great for golf and water skiing. Maybe try the Charlotte N.C. area. Look at brochures of those areas. I'm not fond of N.M. or Arizona because of the dryness.
Answer 3 :
You can try Colorado, we have some beautiful courses and the best ski resorts in the country.
Answer 4 :
How about New Mexico or Arizona. I'm partial to New Mexico, myself, it is an utterly beautiful state. If you prefer to stay east coast, North Carolina would be okay and maybe Tennessee, West Virginia or some parts of Virgina. Of course if you're not afraid of earthquakes, there's always California.

About Does anyone know how to get/of a job anywhere near Madison, WI, to work with dogs (no prior experience)

Does anyone know how to get/of a job anywhere near Madison, WI, to work with dogs (no prior experience)?
I recently applied to Ruffin' It Resort. (A dog hotel/day care) I sent a resume like they asked. No reply. It's been a week and they did say they were hiring. I know one of my friends works at a local vet hospital. She does very minor jobs like hold the dogs while they get their shots, cleaning, and other things. I've tried calling her to ask how in the world she got it, but she got a new number. Someone else owns hers now. Does anyone know of or can find a job opp with dogs in Middleton or Madison WI or even somewhere farther but still close, that I could apply for. With no prior experience besides caring for my own dogs. (literally, I love my dogs to death, they are my lives, my only friends.) And other pets. I've had much experience with a variety of pets plus taking care of my friends dog while he went on vacation for 3 months in Korea. If you don't know specifically where in madison/middleton WI I could get a job with no prior experience... In general, what jobs could I get, that include working with dogs? Thank you in advance! :) To davina spear...... -_- I swear there are yahoo robots on here. I already spent much time with my dad's help on a resume that I ALREADY sent to them. Read the question. Yes, I am 18. I may sound young but if you look at my asked question history, I've asked much regaurding jobs and resumes. My only job was at a retirement home and I worked there over a year. If my mom wasn't good family friends with the boss, I probably wouldn't have got it. Besides that I do have great knowledge of dog behaviors, training tactics, and an utmost love and intrest for them. I'm not sure why some days I spend hours watching animal cops on aninal planet. maybe because I'm so captivated by the hard work they so saving so many dogs, cats, and other animals. My dream job I want animals involved that's certain.

Hello Michelle: I've heard many situations like you even if including me, this is very unreasonable! Anyway time's wait should be limited, but now don't get angry anymore, I am Nu Skin network direct distributor, this job is time free, opportunities worldwide, copy simply, to hold current job easy, not to force to enroll and purchase, if you are interested in this please email me to know more details to help you! Good luck!
Answer 2 :
Davina and Sofia were not direct responses to your question, they were spam. You sound a little younger than 18, so that's why people may not be responsive. You want to deal with animals, an animals bite. It's a risk employers may not want to take with someone under 18. If you're over 18, there are probably a few dozen places that would be interested in you. Pet stores like Pets Mart, veterinarian clinics, boarding kennels, dog walking services (something you could do/ start on your own), pet sitting (you could do that too), pet groomers, animal shelters, Humane Societies (this one has a down-side that they would explain to you), even, believe it or not, doggy-doo services, where you go to peoples homes and clean up after Rufus. It does pay well, and there are several companies that franchise this (Duty Calls, Doggy Doo, etc.). You have to google each term along with the word Madison WI for your area, and I'm sure you'll find plenty of businesses to call on. You're going to have to call on them, many of these businesses are run by family members, and usually hire someone in the family when an opening occurs. Write up a short resume, even if you've never worked before, just tell of your interest and love of pets, and hand-deliver them to any of the places you would LIKE to work at. Tell them when you're available to work, and anything else that may make you stand out. When you find a way to make money at something you love, it beats something that just gives you a paycheck. Good luck! Be persistent! BTW: My dad was part owner in a kennel, much like a Humane Society, and by 8 I was cleaning dog and cat cages and pen (about a hundred cats in a pen at a time, oh joy!), showed dogs and cats for sale, went on calls to pick up stray pets and animals, dealt with deer, ducks, peacocks, pigeons, bats, rats, raccoon's, 'possums, skunks, snakes, squirrels, rabbits, pigs, horses, cows, monkeys in a tree, chimpanzees that loved you then bit you, and even a shark, all before 12 years old. It was interesting. I don't know if I would do it again. (forgot to add, it was so long ago that I was paid about $10 a week for all of that work, and that was a lot of money to an 8-10 year old, not so much at 12).

About Does anyone work at Epic in Madison, WI

Does anyone work at Epic in Madison, WI??
Are they a good company to work for? I read somewhere else that the hiring process takes quite a while. I am in Orlando, FL, will I like the Madison area? What about the snowfall? Is there lake effect snow in that area? This is a company that makes software for the healthcare industry. I think you have the wrong thing. Okay, so I've been reading that they expect everyone to work 55+ hrs/wk and that you may go through a month's worth of the interview process and not get the job. How on earth is that supposed to work if I live in FL and have pets to take care of??!! I was reading about it here: http://community.livejournal.com/madisonwi/307932.html and here http://episteme.arstechnica.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/599009962631/m/806009655731/p/3 It sounds great, esp since I've only had total crap jobs that pay less than 9.00/hr, but I don't want to spend $2500 on a move just to want to move again in another year or two. :(
